UP Sets for its Own International Trade Show

As a part of promotional endeavours and to shed light on the preparedness, planning, and perspective of the upcoming UP International Trade Show, a dynamic roadshow was organized today by Department of MSME & Export Promotion, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh & India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), Greater Noida at Hotel Royal Plaza, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The first edition of the UP International Trade Show, acronymed as UPITS, is going to be organized as a top-sourcing platformfrom 21- 25 September 2023 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. It is an ambitious joint initiative of the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML), an exclusive and famed destination for top-notch trade exhibits, conferences, seminars, congresses, and other events. The roadshow was joined by Senior Officers of MSME and Export Promotion Department of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, representatives of focus sectors,trade associations and chambers, embassies and heads of foreign missions, policy makers, relevant stakeholders, entrepreneurs,exporters, press & media, and of course the top brass of India Exposition Mart Ltd. The representatives of prominent associations and trade bodies were present during the roadshow . Shri Pranjal Yadav, IAS Secretary, Department of MSME and Export Promotion, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, gave the welcome address. In his speech, Shri Yadav gave an overview of the MSME industry in the state of Uttar Pradesh and painted a realistic picture of its future potential.
Shri Amit Mohan Prasad, IAS Addl. Chief Secretary, Department of M.S.M.E& Export Promotion, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his Keynote address, heshared his insight on the significance of UPITS for the state of Uttar Pradesh, which accounts for more than 8% of India’s GDP and is poised to serve as the country’s economic engine. He further added that the state’s MSME units have a bright future and they need to be promoted professionally in order to increase exports, which would benefit both local business and the state’s economy. According to Shri Prasad, the state of Uttar Pradesh has a rich tradition of historical art and craft, and there are numerous areas with great potential for investment. He continued by saying that UPITS would function as a follow-up to the UP Global Investors Summit, enhancing business possibilities for UP’s MSMEs and acting as a catalyst for the state’s goal of a USD 1 trillion economy. Dr.Mannan Akhtar, Special Secretary Medical Health & Family Welfare Dept. Government of Uttar Pradesh is improving the healthcare and medical education sectors through a holistic approach that not only envisages creating more quality healthcare infrastructure but also trained manpower to efficiently run institutions. Health is today being linked with development because only a health society can become a developed society. Encouraging investors and businesses to encash on the opportunities available in the healthcare and medical education sectors in the state of Uttar Pradesh. UPITS will help give better opportunity to Connect stakeholders in the Sector.Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML, gave the presentation on UPITS 2023. Sharing his thoughts on the UP International Trade Show’s goals and vision, he opined that UPITS, as a comprehensive trade expo has been planned which would feature a variety of business sectors, including MSME, Tourism and Hospitality, Health, Textiles, Agro and Food Processing, Start-Ups, GI tags from Uttar Pradesh, Toy Associations and Craft Clusters of Uttar Pradesh, Handloom and Textiles, Micro and Small Enterprise Cluster Development, ODOP, and many others.He was sure that it would prove to be a one-stop sourcing destination for buyers with a complete product range and a boon for exporters, entrepreneurs, and artisans. Shri Pawan Agarwal, Joint Commissioner,( Export), Shri Sarveshwar Shukla, Joint Commissioner(Trade Promotion Authority)along with other Senior officers from Govt. of Uttar Pradesh , UP Export Promotion Council, various departments ,Export Promotion Councils, Chambers of Commerce & Industries ,Trade Association & Bodies were present.
Attended by the veterans of the field and exhibition professionals, it was also decided that the Roadshows will be held in sequence and occur in a handful of cities locally, regionally, and globally to increase awareness about the trade expo. During the roadshow, it was made clear that the booking of venue for the conference and stay arrangements for delegates including international and national buyers, senior officials of the Govt. etc. maybe done by IEML directly. The business representatives and heads of organizations appeared to be largely convinced, contented, and interestedin the show.
